1. What the app is
ReceiptVault stores proof of purchase. It reads receipts you photograph, extracts the merchant, date, total, items and any printed return or warranty terms, keeps a masked and encrypted copy of the page, and reminds you before a deadline passes.
2. What the app is not
- It is not an accounting, tax or expense-management tool, and its records are not prepared to any accounting standard.
- It is not legal advice. Return and warranty rights depend on the retailer's policy and on your local consumer law, not on what this app displays.
- It does not guarantee a refund, replacement or repair. Whether a claim succeeds is entirely between you and the retailer or manufacturer.
- It is not a backup service. Keep the original receipt if the purchase matters enough.
3. AI extraction is an estimate
Receipt values, return windows and warranty dates are produced by an AI model reading an image, and they can be wrong — misread digits, an ambiguous date format, a faded thermal print, a policy that was never printed on the page. Every value is shown to you as an editable draft before it is saved, and correcting it is your responsibility. Do not rely on a deadline shown in the app without checking it against the receipt and the retailer's actual policy.
Masking of card numbers and other sensitive regions likewise depends on the AI finding them. Review the masked preview before saving.
4. Your account
You may browse as a guest, but saving an encrypted receipt image requires a recoverable email or Google account, so that your vault survives a reinstall and so that a purchase can be restored to you. You are responsible for keeping access to that account and for the accuracy of what you enter.
You must not use the app to store documents you have no right to hold, to attempt to defraud a retailer, or to circumvent its quota, billing or security controls.
5. Your content
Your receipts remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service: to transmit the image for AI reading, to store the masked and encrypted copy, and to display it back to you. We do not use your receipts to train models, and we do not sell or share them. How this works in detail is set out in the privacy policy.
6. Free tier and Pro
The free tier includes a limited number of scans. Pro removes that limit and is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play. The price in your local currency, the billing period and any introductory offer are displayed by Google Play before you confirm, and are the authoritative figures — not any figure quoted elsewhere.
A subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the end of the paid period. Because a purchase is tied to a recoverable account, you must be signed in before buying, so that the entitlement can be restored after a reinstall or a device change.
7. Refunds
Purchases are processed by Google Play, and refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy. We cannot issue a refund for a Play purchase directly. Statutory rights you have under your local consumer law are not affected by this clause.
8. Availability and changes
The app depends on services we do not control, including Google Play, Firebase and the Gemini API. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. If we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice and a way to retrieve your data where that is technically possible.
9. Ending your use
You can delete your account and all its contents at any time from Profile → Delete Account, or through the deletion request form. Deletion is permanent and unrecoverable. We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or to break these terms.
10. Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for a refused return, an expired warranty, a missed deadline, a misread value, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of SET JURISDICTION, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
